The fourth group of staff from Fondazzjoni Sebh and St Patrick’s Residential Homes, who embarked on a study visit funded by the ESF project ‘Deinstitutionalization and Improved Life Chances through research, education, and training’ came back from Spain and this is what they had to say about their experience: “Our experience revolved around the fact that so much careful planning is done through love and care for service provision. Services are made available in preparation for the children who re-integrate into the community after their residential stay. It was interesting to note the transparency and the structure that was paired with focus and light-hearted attitude towards the service users.” Nadia and Karl

The Fifth and last group of staff from Fondazzjoni Sebh who embarked on a study visit funded by the ESF project ‘Deinstitutionalization and Improved Life Chances through research, education, and training’ came back from Bologna, Italy and this is what they had to say about their experience:
“Our experience in Bologna was as lovely as the Italian people themselves. Our host Giulio took us around a number of homes where various models of practices were shared. There is lots to bring back home and we are eager to share all we’ve learnt with the other colleagues. Surely the good food didn’t disappoint either” – Elmer, Alexia and Aisha
